Every time Kristaen Albert returns home, he reaches for one of the dozen cans of oxygen on a table by the entrance of his house in Central Kalimantan. The air in his neighbourhood has turned dusty amber, with air quality far exceeding hazardous levels. “My breathing is noticeably heavier whenever I step outside. This October witnesses the 90th anniversary of the end of the Long March. But was that the end of the story? This is a key question raised in the new CGTN Documentary Breaking Through. Part travelogue, part history, this series retraces the steps of those intrepid pioneers, reflecting not just on how and why the original Long March happened, but also on the impact it continues to have on the landscape of today's China. The military said it has not decided whether to accept new conditions if the U.S. proposes new ones. “The principle that OPCON will be transferred once the conditions mutually agreed upon by South Korea and the United States are met remains unchanged,” ministry spokesperson Chung Binna said at a briefing. It said the two countries are closely consulting on the transfer issue according to the Conditions-based Operational Control Transition Plan (COTP), which was agreed upon in 2015. The allies have been verifying South Korea’s capabilities in three stages under the COTP, and
